beautiful beat, get me out of this mess.

ooh it's been awhile since i blogged. wanted to blog "one last time" last sunday before school started but i never got down to it. kind of lazy i guess.

so yes, since the last time i blogged:

school has started. 2 weeks now.
hail storm on saturday i think?
watched shutter island.
got obsessed with my geomorphology lecturer.
autumn has arrived.

ya that's basically about it.

let's talk about school then. i must say i like it. but then again, it's only been 2 weeks. so what would i know right? it might start becoming a killer next week. but so far so good. not too lost yet i suppose. changed my subjects around a little bit. still doing geomorphology, aussie wildlife bio. dropped animal structure and function cause it was practically the same as biodiversity back in nus. changed my breadth to french which is proving to be suicidal. oh yes, in place of animal structure and function i took on comparative nutrition and digestion which is turning out to be really difficult to understand. but i will not give up on it. i swear. french is just. difficult. as in, i would love to learn french. and spanish and italian and german and arabic. yes, i want to be super multilingual. but i want to learn it at my own pace and ya. not be tested on it. even though they all say that languages are easy cause it's only a beginner's course how difficult can they make it. i swear it is that difficult. god the french pronunciation is ridiculous. all those throaty sounds are SO difficult to make them without sounding like you're trying to spit out phlegm. it's quite disgusting. but it is pretty fun i must admit. dropped animal structure and function after i got approval from one of the coordinators of a year 3 subject to be exempted from it on condition that i do well. which is pretty scary. but i'm hopeful. aussie wildlife bio is proving to be amazingly awesome. i love it. it's like learning cool new facts every lecture and not having to wreck my brains worrying about the chemical or mathematical or whatever other nonsensical components. i love it. geomorphology is just as awesome cause my lecturer is just SO DAMN HANDSOME. i think i'm in love. hahahha. he's awesome, largely due to the fact that he's so handsome. but he's also really funny. so you actually want to listen to him, and not just look at him. haha. and yes, the subject is pretty interesting though a little overwhelming and not very understandable at times. companion nutrition and digestion. i don't know what to say about it. other than i made a new friend through that subject today. which is the one good thing about it i suppose. ohwell.

so yes. i'm liking school. so far so good. i've got deadlines for essays and homework already which is pretty crappy but ahwell. it's good to know it really early so you're prepared for it i guess? yup. plus i've got a french test on monday. or wednesday. which is really scary. but yea. what to do.

shutter island was awesome. everybody must watch it. i hated the ending though. i was so hoping for some kind of conspiracy. well it was kind of a conspiracy. but not the kind i was looking forward to. so ya. leonardo dicaprio is awesome. he deserves an oscar. seriously.

autumn is turning out to be pretty beautiful. the weather is really awesome. though it gets a little cold sometimes. especially when you wake up in the morning. it's almost impossible to get out of bed. i just want to stay under my duvet all day. but alas, i've got to go to school. zzzz. so yes. beautiful weather. i love it. has been mostly sunny the last few days. short drizzles yesterday i think. but pretty alright overall. definitely prefer this to blazing summer days. though the summer i've experienced so far was pretty ok minus the few days when temperatures went above 35. yes, melbourne is turning out to be pretty awesome so far.

speaking of weather, i witnessed my first hail storm on saturday! it was amazing! haha. yes, totally retarded to be so excited about it but i thought it was the coolest thing ever. i swear. i actually woke up really early on saturday. and it was super bright. looked to be another beautiful autumn day. of course i went back to sleep and woke up really late. like 1 or 2 i think. and it was completely dark. which was quite scary i must admit. so i went to the toilet to wash up and everything and i heard this thudding, no more like thumping, outside. it totally freaked me out. i was wondering what the hell was going on. so i came out to look and it was hailing! cool or what! i took some pictures. not very awesome or anything, but still cool all the same. haha.

not very awesome photos i know but you can see the little hailstones! i think they're kind of cute. hahaha. wanted to go out and collect them but was afraid huge ones will start falling and knock me unconscious or something. haha. that was the second day of really bad flooding in melbourne. and it was worst this time round cause of the hail. according to the news, southern cross station, etihad stadium and a few other places had roofs caving in cause of build up of hail on the roof. which is really scary if you ask me. trains were delayed for 4 or more hours from southern cross cause the station was closed. it was really bad. the news said that flinders st became an extension of the yarra river which i thought was a really funny comment. but yea. the flooding on flinders was terrible. trams couldn't move and everything. so transport for the day was pretty screwed up. they adviced people to stay out of the city the next day. i think it was the same night, or sunday night. that it started raining at about 7-ish and didn't stop even when i went to sleep at 12-ish i think. really bad. i'm lucky the "terrain" of my place is kind of downslope? yea. so all the water is just flowing down. otherwise i think my place would prolly get flooded. pretty lucky for the courtyard otherwise all the water flowing downslope would just flow into my place. yes. thank goodness for the elevation. the building next to mine has 2 units on the ground floor without any elevation so i think it was flooded. quite terrible. my friend's place got flooded too. it wasn't directly from the outside. if you get what i mean. the water came in from her lights. terrible construction. terrible terrible. but it was quite amazing. can you imagine how much water was shed from the skies that day. amazing i swear.

yea that's about it i guess. shall go read my textbooks and prepare for my essays and other work. zz. getting back into the studying mode is quite weird. after bumming for the better part of 2009, 2010 is going to be a study study study year. ahwell. what to do right? at least i'm liking my course so it doesn't feel like a chore which is important i'm sure. i'm loving my choice to come to melbourne. though it gets lonely at times. but ahwell. i can't survive on friends alone can i?

alrighty then. till the next time then, whenever that will be.
