beautiful beat, get me out of this mess.

ooh it's been awhile since i blogged. wanted to blog "one last time" last sunday before school started but i never got down to it. kind of lazy i guess.

so yes, since the last time i blogged:

school has started. 2 weeks now.
hail storm on saturday i think?
watched shutter island.
got obsessed with my geomorphology lecturer.
autumn has arrived.

ya that's basically about it.

let's talk about school then. i must say i like it. but then again, it's only been 2 weeks. so what would i know right? it might start becoming a killer next week. but so far so good. not too lost yet i suppose. changed my subjects around a little bit. still doing geomorphology, aussie wildlife bio. dropped animal structure and function cause it was practically the same as biodiversity back in nus. changed my breadth to french which is proving to be suicidal. oh yes, in place of animal structure and function i took on comparative nutrition and digestion which is turning out to be really difficult to understand. but i will not give up on it. i swear. french is just. difficult. as in, i would love to learn french. and spanish and italian and german and arabic. yes, i want to be super multilingual. but i want to learn it at my own pace and ya. not be tested on it. even though they all say that languages are easy cause it's only a beginner's course how difficult can they make it. i swear it is that difficult. god the french pronunciation is ridiculous. all those throaty sounds are SO difficult to make them without sounding like you're trying to spit out phlegm. it's quite disgusting. but it is pretty fun i must admit. dropped animal structure and function after i got approval from one of the coordinators of a year 3 subject to be exempted from it on condition that i do well. which is pretty scary. but i'm hopeful. aussie wildlife bio is proving to be amazingly awesome. i love it. it's like learning cool new facts every lecture and not having to wreck my brains worrying about the chemical or mathematical or whatever other nonsensical components. i love it. geomorphology is just as awesome cause my lecturer is just SO DAMN HANDSOME. i think i'm in love. hahahha. he's awesome, largely due to the fact that he's so handsome. but he's also really funny. so you actually want to listen to him, and not just look at him. haha. and yes, the subject is pretty interesting though a little overwhelming and not very understandable at times. companion nutrition and digestion. i don't know what to say about it. other than i made a new friend through that subject today. which is the one good thing about it i suppose. ohwell.

so yes. i'm liking school. so far so good. i've got deadlines for essays and homework already which is pretty crappy but ahwell. it's good to know it really early so you're prepared for it i guess? yup. plus i've got a french test on monday. or wednesday. which is really scary. but yea. what to do.

shutter island was awesome. everybody must watch it. i hated the ending though. i was so hoping for some kind of conspiracy. well it was kind of a conspiracy. but not the kind i was looking forward to. so ya. leonardo dicaprio is awesome. he deserves an oscar. seriously.

autumn is turning out to be pretty beautiful. the weather is really awesome. though it gets a little cold sometimes. especially when you wake up in the morning. it's almost impossible to get out of bed. i just want to stay under my duvet all day. but alas, i've got to go to school. zzzz. so yes. beautiful weather. i love it. has been mostly sunny the last few days. short drizzles yesterday i think. but pretty alright overall. definitely prefer this to blazing summer days. though the summer i've experienced so far was pretty ok minus the few days when temperatures went above 35. yes, melbourne is turning out to be pretty awesome so far.

speaking of weather, i witnessed my first hail storm on saturday! it was amazing! haha. yes, totally retarded to be so excited about it but i thought it was the coolest thing ever. i swear. i actually woke up really early on saturday. and it was super bright. looked to be another beautiful autumn day. of course i went back to sleep and woke up really late. like 1 or 2 i think. and it was completely dark. which was quite scary i must admit. so i went to the toilet to wash up and everything and i heard this thudding, no more like thumping, outside. it totally freaked me out. i was wondering what the hell was going on. so i came out to look and it was hailing! cool or what! i took some pictures. not very awesome or anything, but still cool all the same. haha.

Photobucket

Photobucket

not very awesome photos i know but you can see the little hailstones! i think they're kind of cute. hahaha. wanted to go out and collect them but was afraid huge ones will start falling and knock me unconscious or something. haha. that was the second day of really bad flooding in melbourne. and it was worst this time round cause of the hail. according to the news, southern cross station, etihad stadium and a few other places had roofs caving in cause of build up of hail on the roof. which is really scary if you ask me. trains were delayed for 4 or more hours from southern cross cause the station was closed. it was really bad. the news said that flinders st became an extension of the yarra river which i thought was a really funny comment. but yea. the flooding on flinders was terrible. trams couldn't move and everything. so transport for the day was pretty screwed up. they adviced people to stay out of the city the next day. i think it was the same night, or sunday night. that it started raining at about 7-ish and didn't stop even when i went to sleep at 12-ish i think. really bad. i'm lucky the "terrain" of my place is kind of downslope? yea. so all the water is just flowing down. otherwise i think my place would prolly get flooded. pretty lucky for the courtyard otherwise all the water flowing downslope would just flow into my place. yes. thank goodness for the elevation. the building next to mine has 2 units on the ground floor without any elevation so i think it was flooded. quite terrible. my friend's place got flooded too. it wasn't directly from the outside. if you get what i mean. the water came in from her lights. terrible construction. terrible terrible. but it was quite amazing. can you imagine how much water was shed from the skies that day. amazing i swear.

yea that's about it i guess. shall go read my textbooks and prepare for my essays and other work. zz. getting back into the studying mode is quite weird. after bumming for the better part of 2009, 2010 is going to be a study study study year. ahwell. what to do right? at least i'm liking my course so it doesn't feel like a chore which is important i'm sure. i'm loving my choice to come to melbourne. though it gets lonely at times. but ahwell. i can't survive on friends alone can i?

alrighty then. till the next time then, whenever that will be.

and i would walk 500 more.

well i did it! i walked 10000 steps yesterday. in fact, i walk 81 above the daily healthy goal. HAHA. yes, achievement of the year. i walked 10081 steps yesterday. whee. owing largely to the fact that i finally got out of the house. decided stoning at home for another day was just not healthy and so i went to town. just to walk around for the fun of it. didn't plan on buying anything. yes, i walked to town. yay me. i woke up pretty late and i thought i'd just walk around lygon but when i went out, the weather was pretty good and decided to take a walk.

oh wait. i guess i should explain why i decided to go out in the first place. had decided the day before to go out. but i knew i prolly wasn't going to stick to that decision the next day. but the bolt cutter came in the morning to FINALLY cut the stupid lock on my storage cage, yes it's a cage. and so finally the storage cage could be used and i decided that i might as well go out to get a lock. so yes. therefore i dragged my ass out of the house. just checked google maps and it's a 1.9km walk to QV in town. not bad. i think i walked quite a bit yesterday. i mean, it has to be quite alot if you walk 10000 steps isn't it? i suppose so anyway.

so anyhoos, went to town, got my lock and decided to just window shop a bit here and there. might as well, since i was already in town. went to wittner to see if those leather sandals i liked were still there. no they weren't. boo. and they were 40 bucks now. knew i should have bought them the last time. but then again, nah. save money. i guess. went to rubi shoes to check if the nude ankle boots were on sale yet. no they weren't. and i don't think they'll be going on sale anytime soon. saw my black wedges still selling at original price. and i bought the wedges last year. so yea. maybe i'll go buy the ankle boots one of these days. stepped into dotti. saw this REALLY GORGEOUS teal, er well, coat. it wasn't really a coat. definitely not going to keep you warm in winter. i suppose you could call it a trench coat. ok i can't find it online. unfortunately. but yes. it was really nice. really liked it. it was over a 100bucks though. which i thought really wasn't worth it. if it's not going to keep you warm at all. but it was so gorgeous. argh. the colour was super nice. argh. and i went into forever new as well. and there was this REALLY NICE pair of high waisted harem pants!

Photobucket
ok i know the picture quality is horrible and you can barely make it ok. but it really is very nice. the picture does it no justice. sadly, it's kind of short. as you can see. my legs are too long for my own good. and the bottom is strangely tight. i don't think my lower thighs are that fat right. really weird cutting. but it's still very nice and i really like it. zzzz. it's 80bucks though and i think that's quite a spastic price to pay for pants. actually, on second thought, it's quite ok right? prolly just not a price i'll usually pay i guess. i do like it. maybe i should get it. but pants that are too short look pretty ridiculous in my opinion. zzzz.

so yes, that's basically all the (window) shopping i did yesterday. will go down to dfo another day i guess. when i'm feeling not lazy again. hur hur.

took a different route home. cause i went to laguna to buy some sauces and thought i'd just walk up russell and on to lygon. passed by a pretty interesting sight.

Photobucket
some idiot obviously didn't butt (bud?) out his cigarette properly before throwing it into the bin. when i first saw it across the street, i thought it was some cny thingy burning papers or something. but that didn't really make sense when i thought about it. i don't think you burn hell notes during cny, so ya. and i realised it was a dustbin! it was quite hilarious. and the fire was quite big. it doesn't look it here. bad timing. it was over the top of the bin and everything. and you could smell like "burning" metal. or heated up metal i guess. but there was that funny metallic smell. and this dude was just hilarious, warming his hands. seriously. and so i walked off and the fire engine came! hahahahha.

Photobucket
ok not very good shot, i know. but basically the firemen came. it was just quite hilarious. i don't know why. they put it out like super fast of course. but yea. quite excitings. hahah. i wonder how the fire could go on burning for so long though. maybe when i chanced upon the burning bin it had only just started or something. but yea.

so yes, that pretty much sums up my yesterday. the day before, i went for a walk/jog to carlton gardens. and i passed by this shop with the stupidest sign ever.

Photobucket
ok the stupid picture refuses to orientate properly on photobucket so you'll just have to look at it this way then. but seriously, i wish everything in life could be that easy. like wthhhhhh. stupidest excuse i've heard so far. and yet very funny at the same time.

tomorrow is the international student talk. finally, school is kind of starting. i have no idea what time it is or where it'll be held. my internet is a pain in the ass. i should think it's the internet and not the random website's fault. i hope. like the last 2 nights, i tried to get onto photobucket and i couldn't. the stupid page just wouldn't load. 2 nights in a row! and now, i'm trying to check the important dates for my school and it just won't load! stupid stupid stupid.

ok i think i shall try to figure out the problem or something. stupid damn thing. oh and my itunes is working again. what the hell right. let's hope it stays that way.

frodo, don't wear the ring

i'm officially a hermit. since the sister left a week ago, i' have stepped out of the house for approximately 5 hours tops. yes, tops. prolly even less, i dare say. is dare say one word or seperate? anyhoos. i had big plans for this week. well not exactly big plans. but i had planned on leaving the apartment. and changing out of my pajamas. but yea, it didn't really turn out as planned. for one, the weather has been psychotic. what with the nonstop rain and flooding in/on flinders st. which is hilarious, i don't care. seeing people swim down flinders st is just about the most hilarious thing i've seen this week. seriously. sadly, didn't see it in person, saw it in the news. still hilarious though. yes. so the weather hasn't exactly permitted my going out. and going shopping alone is pretty sad and nobody is there to give you an opinion. which is extremely valuable because you don't want to be buying all sorts of expensive and ugly junk. no, expensive and ugly junk is bad. so yes. i have stepped out of the house mostly 30 minutes a day. awesome isn't it. and i hear the front door banging away very regularly and i seriously wonder where this people go too. i mean seriously. is there so many things to do out there? you can only shop for so many days in a row. i need friends. NOW.

so anyhoos, i've been watching flight of the conchords. i know that's pretty old news but i just got into the craze recently. slow, i know. but hell whatever. and here's one of my favourite songs.

i love the part the rap. and when bret goes, "hurray." and it really is "hurray." with a full stop, not an exclamation mark. it's hilarious. i have to copy and paste the lyrics here. just reading it makes me laugh.

[Jemaine And Bret]
Frodo, don't wear the ring.
I know it's very tempting.
Yes, you will appear to disappear,
But the dark riders they'll know you're there.
Yes, Lord Sauron has many spies'

[Eugene as Saruman]
Many spies, have many eyes'

[Jemaine And Bret]
One ring to bind them, to find them,
One ring to rule them all,
One ring to bind them, one to find them,
One ring to rule them ALLLLLLL!!!
Yea, Little Frodo!
You've got to rule them, Frodo, rule them with the ring Come on ruuuule them
with your ring!

[Eugene as Saruman]
Lord Sauron has many spies, beasts and birds.

[Mel as Arwen]
If you want him, come and claim him!

[Bret as Frodo]
Do they, Gandalf'

[Murray as Gandalf]
I am not a conjurer of cheap tricks!

[Jemaine as Sam]
I can't carry the ring
But I can carry you, Mr. Frodo.

[Dave as Aragorn]
You have my sword,

[Bret as Legolas]
And my bow,

[Dave as Gimli]
And my axe!

[Mel as Arwen]
Noro nim mish fir mar nim nor!

[Jemaine as Sam]
Mordor'

[Dave as Aragorn]
We'll never make it.
There's thousands of them and only nine of us'

[Bret as Frodo with ring]
Ohhhh'

[Dave as Aragorn]
We made it'

[Bret as Frodo]
Hurray, we made it.

[Bret And Jemaine]
Yo Frodo, what you doin' wearing the ring'
All powerful jewelry, is that your new thing'
I know it's hard when you're little more than 3 foot 4
Your little ass so close to the floor.
Trying to lead the fellows to the gates of Mordor
The Fellowship!
(Yea the fellowship)
I don't rap about bitches and hos,
I rap about witches and trolls,
just passing on the words of the Elven king,
Wisdom to all
Frodo! Don't wear the ring!

[Jemaine And Bret]
Frodo don't wear the ring,
The magical bling bling,
You'll never be the Lord of the Rings

and what do you know! bret (the very cute one, i like.) was in lord of the rings. seriously. HAHA. he was an elf. THE elf actually, who told arwen when they were leaving for the undying lands that they could not delay any longer. and she rode back to rivendell to demand what her father saw in his dream/vision. yes, too much detail. but yes. that was him. HILARIOUS. they have it on youtube. you should go see it.

ok i think that's about it for today. i don't see anything else to do online so i think i shall go offline and continue watching videos on my laptop. tomorrow, i will/MUST go out because i need to go to victoria market to get some groceries cause i am running out of food to eat which is never a good thing. nope, never NEVER a good thing. and yea. maybe i'll wander around in town for awhile. if the weather is nice, maybe i'll walk. yest. 10 000 steps a day huh. i should go get a trolley so walking will be so much easier. than i won't have to lug all the food home on my shoulders or whatever. ok not like there will be alot since i'm only buying food for one and my stupid fridge is way too small to fit lots of things anyway. i should totally buy those freezers to put outside. as in, you plug it in but. yea. you get what i mean. though that would mean extra electricity used which is not good. argh.

i do so love this place, minus the stupid disgusting smelly carpet, and i wished the rent was lower. plus perhaps this apartment could be on the 2nd or 3rd floor. the exact same apartment of course. without the courtyard is fine, as long as i have a balcony. then i can open the window/door all day long and allow the cool air in. but right now i can't cause i'm too paranoid to open the window/door beyond 7 or 8 pm. but yea. i would love to stay on in this place if the rent was cheaper. and if utilities of some kind were included. right now it's just gas. which is pretty spastic cause it really isn't used that often. i wished it was gas AND water. then i can take super long baths. though i know i shouldn't do that to save water. so i suppose it's good that i have to pay for electricity and water so i learn to use less of both. though i do think electricity will be quite high since i've been watching alot of tv and using alot of my laptop. i really should go out more often and conserve more energy.

ok i was supposed to be going. till the next time then.

and i would walk 500 miles

sorry again for the lack of updates. my internet usage exceeded a few days before the end of my internet usage (yes, i have to brush up on my vocabulary) and so i was internet-less for a few days. which was pretty ok actually. i realised i can survive a few days without the internet. which is a good thing. and right now, i think i can prolly survive a few days without my handphone either since there's basically no one for me to sms or call. life is tragic, i think so too.

so the sister has went home. BOO. life sucks even more. i really miss my sister. :( i've come to realise that this LARGE studio is actually quite the very large. yes, singaporean me kicking in. i mean seriously. maybe now cause i'm sad and lonely therefore i feel it's very large. perhaps if i did share it with someone my sentiments wouldn't be the same. but yes. right now, i'm feeling like it's s pretty big place for just lonely little me. it's really quiet too. minus the practically every 10 minute tram passing by sound. which is strangely soothing (like there is life out there thank goodness) and annoying at the same time.

the bunch of bananas i bought from victoria market on saturday are starting to get all black-ish. 5 bananas in a day is so not good. ok fine, i think it is actually very good for your bowel system. but seriously. carbo overload it feels.

i attempted to run yesterday. and yes, attempted is totally the correct word. i think i ran for 20 minutes top. HAHA. yes, i'm a total loser, i know. well to be fair, i had stitches so i really couldn't run anymore. but i admit i'm totally unfit. so i told myself, ahwell, little bit a day. soon enough i'll be fit again and i may be running 1 hour a day. is that even alot? i wonder. yes and to force myself to run, i shall go to dfo on friday and buy myself a visor (a cool one of course) and wristbands to wipe my sweat when i run. totally the coolest thing ever. all (ok mostly all) the tennis players wear it and it's super cool. hahahha. so perhaps after i've spent money and all this nonsense i'll be forced to run. yes. cannot let any money go to waste while i'm over here. life sucks. tell me about it. want to buy those ipod thingys as well. but they cost freaking 40 bucks plus they're hideous. i saw it a monash the other day. totally totally hideous. so now i'm running with my handphone and my limited songs because my handphone has this application called the walk mate which measures the number of steps you've taken. apparently, the health goal each day is 10 000. the closest i've gotten was 7000+ i think. yes, total loser, i agree.

the day i got 7000+ was when the sister left. i decided to save money by walking home after sending her off. no, not from the airport of course. that's suicidal. and definitely 10 000 steps. i walked home from spencer st. southern cross station is it? ohmygod. i still don't know the names. i need to get myself acquainted with melbourne. but back to the point. i walked home from spencer st. which is my opinion was quite a long walk. it took me approximately 4000 steps. which i once again thought was alot. haha. the weather was pretty nice and i thought i shouldn't waste money on transport home. since it was pretty much a walkable distance. yep. i've decided to go healthy and walk whenever i can. it's pretty much a walkable distance everywhere within the cbd. of course not far far beyond like, er camberwell. but yea, within the city seems reasonable. save money and lose weight. awesome. but of course only on nice weather days.

on monday, i went into the city for my free "make-up lesson". it wasn't much of a lesson. she just drew my eyes for me and applied a little concealor here and there. but it was pretty cool. she did teach me how to apply eye shadow and things like that. and told me that eye liner was just a matter of practicing. but ahwell. i don't think i'll ever get down to doing any of those things. first of all, i'm too lazy. and second of all, i'm just not that adventurous. i know, what's so adventurous about eye liner. well it is if you don't know how to do it and end up looking like amy winehouse, according to my friend. hilarious. i know. so yea. we'll see how it goes i guess. here are picture of my eyes which i took when i got home. you can't really tell, i know. but ahwell.

Photobucket

Photobucket
she actually applied a little blusher too. i'm sure you can't see. i had the hardest time getting the eye liner and mascara off. i panicked a little. i didn't want to look like amy winehouse permanently. seriously.

well i told myself to be healthy and go running today. plus the weather is quite awesome. it's pretty cool. according to my laptop it's 24 degrees but i'm sure my laptop's lying. it looks like it's going to rain though. which is quite worrying. but i should stop making excuses and just go run. yes. prolly at 5.30. since i ate lunch (which was a venti cup of home made coffee and 2 slices of bread. healthiest person ever, i know.) at prolly close to 2? don't want to get stitches again today. i wonder why it's called stitches.

well i think that's about it for today. i shall watch another episode of desperate housewives and if the weather doesn't get any darker/blacker/scarier, i'll go for my run. yes. i will.

i want to love you but i don't know if i can.

hello avid readers (ya totally.) sorry for my recent lack of updates. have been pretty busy obsessing with aussie open. and packing and unpacking at my new place. so yes. it's been awhile since i last updated. let's go back awhile shall we. to well, last sunday.

well, last sunday was by far the happiest day i've been this year. HAHA. i know. last sunday was only the 31st of january and so i still have a LONG way to go till the end of the year. so yes, so far, that has been the awesomest day ever. BECAUSE....

ROGER FEDERER WON THE AUSSIE OPEN. omgomgomgomgomgomgomg.

yes. it was a really tough match to watch, even though he won in straight sets. after each set, you couldn't help but think, what if murray wins this set! what if it goes into tie-breaker! can my heart take that kind of excitement! well luckily, my heart wasn't to be tested. at least not that drastically. i did have to sit through and excruciating 3rd set tie-break that saw match point, championship point, match point, championship point bounce about for at least 3 times, if i'm not wrong. it was terrible having to watch that. but in the end, federer worked his magic and made us all very happy. yes indeed. LONG LIVE KING FEDERER. i almost hope he never retires. the world of tennis would be an empty place without him.

Photobucket
i used this photo cause. i don't know. i just think it looks really nice. and kind of special. it's definitely different from all those of him posing at the yarra river the next day. or those at the awards ceremony. is that what you call that. yea. i think this looks nice and relaxed. haha.

and here's another hilarious photo of him. i just can't stop laughing everytime i see it. it came from the "caption it" section in the aussie open website where they post up photos and people try to give it a caption. it's hilarious.

Photobucket
the description for the photo was:
The Fed is a debonair chap, so how odd to see him struggling with a change of clothes at change of ends.
and the winning caption:
"If only putting on my shirt was as easy as winning Grand Slam titles..."

AHAHAHAHAHA. i cannot take it. it's just too hilarious in my opinion.

and another favourite photo of another favourite tennis player of mine.

Photobucket
how can you deny he's the cutest player in the circuit. seriously. i really hopes he wins big time one day. would love to see his victory dance again. whee.

so yes, tennis is unfortunately over. :( which means i have basically nothing to tweet about for awhile. hahaha. but ahwell.

since monday, the sister and i have been moving back and forth between my place and hers like nonstop. there's a MILLION things to move. i swear. but it's nice. now my place actually looks fit for staying. cookware and everything's in. bed, tv (most importantly), clothes, toiletries and the lot. no photos of the finish product yet. cause right now it's still pretty messy with the sister's luggage lying around. but will post up photos of it once the place looks better. have put up all my polaroids on the wall. it's the coolest thing ever i swear. and a massive chunk of photos in front of my study table. makes me feel much happier looking at all those photos. yes it does.

Photobucket
say hello to the super huge ass mess.

Photobucket
more mess. AND THE TV. awesome shits.

Photobucket
kitchen completely stocked for a house party. check out the indomee mee goreng. yes ah.

Photobucket
clothes in the cupboard. whee.

Photobucket
and more clothes in the chest of drawers. whee.

so yea. that's about it for today. the sister's leaving this saturday, which is a really depressing thought. bah. but i guess once she's gone, i'll have more time to myself and my tv. haha. yes, i think i'll revert to my old couch potato self. as in the pre-aussie open pre-aussie couch potato days. yes, those days back in singapore where i watch shows on my laptop till like, 7 am and wake up at around 3 pm. yes, life is good. hahahah. or maybe i should try to be healthy and go exercise a bit. prolly try to explore the place a little bit. just a little bit.

ahwell then. till the next time.

holding your scarred heart in hand

went to watch AUSTRALIAN OPEN yesterday. omggggggggg. it was a FEDERER match. double omgggggggg. and he WON. OH AM GEE, in the words of saffy. yes. it was awesomest. even though we were in the freaking last row. tsk. but it wasn't that bad actually. sure, you can't see the pores on his faces and all. but you can still see his face. pretty much. and i didn't have to squint to see the court, as i thought i might have to. yea, so it was not bad. and the atmosphere was awesome, of course. though it got really annoying when the aussie fanatics kept cheering. super super annoying. but i suppose they are entitled to their cheering and all. either way round, federer won so yes. he only lost one service game. which was awesome shits. and i must admit that when hewitt won that service game, it was quite an exciting moment. like FINALLY, kind of moment. though i was like, crap federer! but it was all fine in the end. federer did his magic, as usual, and did not disappoint. thank you, federer. :)

i shall post up some photos i managed to take yesterday. yes, they're not exactly very awesome. i was in the last row ok. and my lenses aren't exactly THAT awesome. so ya.

Photobucket
my tennis hero, roger federer, world number one.

Photobucket

Photobucket
federer in action.

Photobucket
yes, they're minute, i know. but ahwell. how else do i fit the whole court into one frame.

so yep. it was an awesome night. watched federer win in STRAIGHT sets, thank you very nice. unfortunately, was unable to find him on the practice courts to stalk him. don't suppose they stay out on practice courts till after 5pm. boo. didn't get myself a souvenir, yet. the souvenirs are crazy expensive! the jumbo wilson ball cost a freaking 35 bucks. are you crazy! think i'll go buy the poster. at least that's just 10 bucks. waaaaaay more affordable than anything else. yes, a poster to hide the dirty marks on my stupid wall.

aussie open has made me a couch potato. we were SUPPOSED to go to chapel today, again. oh yes, we didn't go on sunday because we woke up at prolly 1 or 2. usual rising time most days. so anyway, SUPPOSED to wake up at 11am to watch the henin match. but duh, obviously i didn't. woke up at 1, no 2, for goodness sake. was awaken 3 times by super loud and super scary sounding fighter planes, or something. it was damn scary i swear! i mean, you're all woozy and half asleep and you hear these really loud fighter planes sounding like they're flying RIGHT OUTSIDE your window. it totally sounds like world war three i swear! of course, after thinking about it for awhile, you then realise it's aussie day and they're prolly have parades or exhibitions or whatever and you go back to sleep. but of course, to be awaken by it 2 more times. but ahwell. oh i've totally digressed. so yes, i'm now a couch potato. though i have been for quite awhile now. since i left nus to be exact. but seriously. i think this is the longest i've sat on the sofa watching tv. just keep watching one match after another, one day after another. not that i'm complaining of course. but i do feel kind of bored. would like to go out one of these days. but unfortunately, all the exciting matches are coming up. what with quarter finals starting today. deng deng deng. fingers crossed for the awesomest federer of course. ALL THE WAY!

on the bright side. tsonga is through to the quarters as well! he plays djokovic next. hmmmmm. i really can't decide who to support. but i think, slightly leaning to the tsonga camp. he's so cute! and really funny when he plays. what's not to love. of course, djokovic is prety hansum too. with a really cool name at that. hahha. but yea. i think i'll go for tsonga.

and there's the henin vs zheng jie semis. excitings! as much as i want to support my fellow race-person, whatever the hell that means, i'm definitely supporting henin. comeback queen all the way yo! i hope she wins the aussie open. henin and federer. ooh, dream come through.

to continue with the tennis talk, went from one blog to this tumblrs thingy. quite cool. it's basically a blog but mostly filled with photos. and with the same concept of twitter where you can retweet. i suppose they call it retumblr. saw this photo and just thought it was amazingly hilarious.

Photobucket
hahahahhahahhahahahhaha.

as much as i love federer and want him to BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF nadal and remain the greatest of all time EVER, i must admit that nadal is a pretty hilarious and cute personality. plus he is a good player. damn you nadal. his facial expressions are often amazingly hilarious and his obsessive complusive arrangement of his evian bottles is the most hilraious thing ever.

here, go have fun looking at all of nadal's retarded facial expressions.

and i found another one with pictures of federer&nadal. and it's kind of gay-centric, bromance-centric tumblr. but just as hilarious.

although i do hate the photos of federer crying at aussie open 2009. it's depressing to watch him cry like that. but yes, he bounced back and that's what's important.

found this photo and thought it was amazingness. he looks like his flying! plus the i-don't-care look on his face. ya man.

Photobucket

and THIS! amazing and hilarious all at the same time. i hope he got the ball. and recovered for the next point after. i can't really remember.

Photobucket

ok. enough with tennis. according to twitter and the How I Met Your Mother production team, the show will be back for a sixth season! awesome! it's going to be "legend-wait for it!-dary!" ohmygodd. i cannot wait. yes, we can all live with a weekly dose of neil patrick harris in our lives. wheeeeeeeeee!

Photobucket
Girls Vs. Suits. hahahahhaha.

Photobucket
apparently they were on playboy. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Photobucket
"ted, SUIT UP!"

and of course,

Photobucket

and i shall leave you with a quote from my favouritest (totally) Barney Stinson played by the just as awesome Neil Patrick Harris.

"It's going to be lengen- wait for it and i hope you're not lactose-intolerant cause the second half of that word is- dairy!"

caught in a bad romance

i usually cannot stand, almost hate, lady gaga, but i visited my annoying friend, qazim's, blog and that was the title of his blog. and now that annoyingly catchy song is stuck in my head and i decided to just use it as my post title. but no, i'm not caught in a bad romance. not caught in ANY kind of romance. would be nice to be. even a bad one. yes, i sound desperate. i know.

anyhoos. still moving up and down between the sisters (Elizabeth St) and the new home (Elgin St). seems like the moving is endless. we're moving the larger furniture now. like how we moved the bed today. so yes, the place looks more homely now. still empty a bit here and there. lacking tables. but there's a bed! and some plates and bowls. haha. here are the pictures. don't mind the quality. taken with my handphone. didn't bring my awesomest dslr today. boo.

Photobucket
the kitchen. still looks pretty much the same. but do note the plates and bowls and cookware. yes, almost in cooking condition, my kitchen. jamie oliver would be proud.

Photobucket
the kind of living room area. i guess you would call this place. since the tv is going to be there. next to that shelf. which holds my dvd collection. ok, more like the sister's dvd collection. but some of them are mine ok. like good ole' ka ho yuet yuen. hahah. and the overstuffed bean bag. will have to empty out some of the beans.

Photobucket
and of course, my bed. no bed sheets yet, so ya. i love those 2 pillows! bought them from ikea at roughly 9 bucks each. they're awesome. i love it. and the very cute giraffe sitting on my bed given to me by my awesomest friends- saffy, weenessa, charlene, azhar and shahrul. and the penguin i bought myself from the christmas collection from starbucks last year. there's a tiger stuck in between the pillows. that's the sister's.

so yes. my new apartment is looking homeir. aiya. forgot to take a photo of the entrance. i've already put up the shoe rack and have come to realise i don't actually have many shoes. good. all the more reason to buy more., hyuk hyuk. the carpet STILL stinks. i feel like crying. bought air wick air fresherner (how do you spell this word?) in hopes the apartment will start smelling better but no. it refuses to smell nicer. when you sit on the carpet you can actually smell that terrible terrible smell. it really REALLY smells like hamster sawdust which you haven't change for probably a month plus your hamster is dead. yes, it's that disgusting decaying smell. i don't know if i'm just imagining it or what. but i really really really, i cannot make it any more obvious, REALLY hate that smell. please let it go away soon. please.

besides that. my nose has been hurting on and off since i got here. the sister says it's cause i'm heaty. but i've been drinking water lately. well, trying to drink more at least. and it still hurts. like quite badly. and when i dig my nose (yes i do that, don't pretend you don't), the booger is red! oh dear oh dear. i hope i don't have nasal cancer, if there is such and thing and if the term is correct. i mean, nothing appears to be wrong and i would know! i've spend countless minutes shoving my nose in the mirror just to get a better view of my right nostril. yes, that's where it hurts. this is bad. and i can't go to the doctor cause i've yet to receive my insurance policy card thingy thingy. ya, whatever that's called. oh dear oh dear. i hope this goes away soon too. along with the disgusting smell in the apartment.

on the brightside, no moving tomorrow. tomorrow will be a day of fun! sort of. got to go to victoria market to get groceries. having been having much food to eat lately. after which, we're going to the arts market so that the sister can buy a new bowl for the dog, sushee, back home. after which we're going to chapel st because american apparel is having sales! whee! and perhaps we'll run into one of the williams sisters again. haha. but what are the chances. the match is already on. i wonder where they're staying. not just the williams sisters. but all the players. especially federer. i would definitely stalk federer.

which brings me to the next point. WE'RE WATCHING AUSSIE OPEN ON MONDAY! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. damn exciting! i just REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that it's a federer match i'm watching. otherwise, i think i'll just kill myself. shall try to convince the sister to go early so that i can stalk federer and hopefully get an autograph from him. hur hur hur.

yea, that's about it for all. longest post to date i must say. till the next time then!

or are we ashes and wine

moved into the new apartment yesterday. wheeeee. ok fine, not exactly moved into. went to collect the keys around lunch time and cleaned up the place here and there. the place REALLY REALLY stinks. it's terrible. the sister says its the carpet or something. according to the agent, the carpet smells like that cause it was just washed. which should be a good thing. if it didn't stink that much. so we went to buy carpet deodorent (who knew there was such a thing!) and sprayed ALOT of it. but alas, went to the apartment today and it STILL stank. argh!

other than that, the apartment is pretty awesome. a few black marks here and there. the previous tenant is annoying me alot. there was clothes left in the washing machine. gross to the max. the kitchen area is quite retarded. the fridge really stank too and it was really dirty. and according to the sister, the previous owner prolly owned a pet cause there was lots of animal hair all over the place while she was vacuuming the carpet. but i suppose what's the point of complaining about all these things. i've already signed the lease, i can't be backing out of this apartment anymore. so yea. what the hell. it's still a pretty awesome place. after i'm done decorating and all, i'm sure i'll grow to love it. yes yes.

here are some photos! when the apartment is still pretty empty and un-decorated.

Photobucket
the doorway. pretty spacious. and the intercom thing which is HILARIOUS. there's actually a camera so you can see who's at the door. and when you talk and you go up to the speaker area, the camera is shooting right at your nose. it kind of looks like those big nose dogs. if you understand what i mean. i shall take a picture of that one day. that's when you're outside by the way. as in, you're viewing your guest's nostrils. eck, that makes no sense.

Photobucket
the toilet. which is pretty nice. it's got shelves on the side, which you can see. really useful. i can stuff all my toiletries there. the washing machine is behind the door. yes, awesome. i couldn't stand the thought of communal laundry. yeesh.

Photobucket
the little corner separating the "living room" and the entrance. will prolly put my chest of drawers for clothes there or something. you can't really see it here, but the tv connection point (whatever it's called) if high on the wall. which is pretty much the most retarded thing ever. now how am i going to plug in my tv? seriously.

Photobucket
the kitchen with the sister. lots of cabinets, which is a good thing. sadly, the microwave is just a microwave so there will be no baking for me. i'm sorry jamie oliver, i tried. the tile area is pretty small, a little spastic. shall not do deep frying too often otherwise i'll dirty the carpets.

Photobucket
the "living room", i guess. or should i say bedroom. since the bed's going to go there. ahwell. the sister picked up the book shelf in some random room where it seems people are dumping there stuff. saw it at ikea today at 30 bucks i think. or something. whee.

Photobucket
and the couryard. yes, pretty nice. i think so too. wish there were plants though. and not just soil. or whatever you call that. maybe i should try to find a cheap lounge chair to put outside. that'd be nice.

yep, that's about. shall put up more photos as the place starts to look more like home. went to ikea today to get some stuff. so yes, the place will start looking more filled really soon.

well, that's about it for today. till the next time then.

when you try your best but you don't succeed

another day spent at home. we actually went out. for like an hour. was planning on watching fantastic mr fox but it wasn't exactly available. so after lunch, at about 1.30pm, we walked about a bit. a bit being going into diva. and that was about it. sat outside hudsons for awhile deciding if we should go somewhere and came home in the end. this extended holiday is turning out to be not as fun as i imagined. bah.

so aussie opens starts today. sharapova lost. first match of the day. not very surprising in my opinion. she's had quite a few early round exits recently is i'm not wrong. murray won, i think. fell asleep after the first set or so. sadly, nadal won. but that was quite obvious. tomorrow's going to be an exciting day! serena, venus, federer. woohoo! sadly, can't be there to watch cause we're selling one of the beds and the person is coming to collect it tomorrow. bah. so now we're waiting for thursday to see how it goes. tickets for the night matches are already sold out. and knowing my luck, federer is prolly playing the night matches. therefore it's sold out. life sucks i swear. i HAVE to watch federer play. i just HAVE to. hopefully, we'll get lucky and federer will once again be playing the morning matches and we'll get to watch him. but my logic is that they switch it around? morning matches one day and night matches the other. bah. my luck/life sucks.

my stupid itunes is still giving me problems. i've done every single bloody thing suggested in the itunes help page and it is still not working. i'm so damn frustrated. thinking of downloading itunes again but what if that doesn't work and i've just wasted another 80mb. i hate how aussie internet works. seriously. and i can't find any place with free wifi. could you not be so cheapo for goodness sake! argh.

ok. enough ranting for today. i'm sure there are people out there in worse off situations than me. i should be thankful. yes. getting the keys for my new home, whee!, this wednesday. quite exciting. can't wait to move in. can't wait to decorate! i'm going to stick all my photos and all my polaroids on the wall. it's going to be awesome. yes ah.

alrighty then. that's about it for today. shall go read the news or something.
